Spilling the "tea" before a session...

PRE-COLONIC INFORMATION

In the 24-48 hours prior to your Colon Hydrotherapy session, we suggest that you eat primarily seasonal and organic vegetables, fruits, and grains. Drinking half your body weight in ounces of water ex. 200lbs divided by 2= 100 ounces of daily water intake (filtered or distilled) will also assist in the process. On the day of your session, eat lightly, mainly vegetables, fruits, and juices. Unless you are on a medically supervised diet, limit water intake and do not eat in the 2 hours immediately prior to your appointment. Once you arrive at our office, we'll ask you to prepare for the session by emptying your bladder, undressing and wearing a gown.

At the end of your session, the movements of the colon muscles and the resulting evacuation may leave you feeling empty and calm. It is usual to wait 2-3 days for your first bowel movement. During this period you might experience a heightened sensitivity to what you ingest. Drink your daily water intake and abstain from eating gas-producing foods, ones that cause allergic reactions, and all forms of sugar in the event of a candida albicans condition. It is also suggested that a probiotic product also be taken.

Aloe for Maintenence...

If you are particularly constipated, you may want to take an aloe tablet the night before your session.  This can help to prevent cramping or difficult eliminations due to hardened stool having trouble passing through the speculum.  Some good ones are Smooth Move Tea (Traditional Medicinals brand) or Aloe Vera juice.

Move your body - Exercise stimulates intestinal circulation so get going!  Schedule some exercise either the day of or day prior to having a colonic. But please, no intense abdominal work 24 hours prior to a session. Tight, overworked abdominal muscles work against the relaxation required for full strong peristaltic contractions of the colon. Swim, walk, ride a bicycle, run, dance, garden, play with your children, clean, or practice yoga or Pilates. Rebounding (bouncing on a mini trampoline) is fabulous for toning the colon and other organs as well as for stimulation of the lymphatic system.

Please arrive on time and in a relaxed manner.  The digestive system and colon in particular function optimally when it is relaxed.  Laughing, breathing, exercising, listening to soothing music, and being in a supportive loving environment all help relax the nervous system. Of course, if it is your first session, it is very normal to be nervous. It is my intention to provide you the most comforting environment possible to alleviate any fear you may have regarding your session.
